After what was a busy week of International Fixtures, plus a potentially season-defining weekend in the F1 calendar, this weekend the focus returns to domestic football across Europe with league action once again getting underway. And in the Premier League what better way to welcome everyone back to the action than with one of the biggest games of the season.

Let’s begin our review of the return of the Premier League action by taking a closer look at the ten matches that are taking place across the weekend from Saturday lunchtime, through until Monday evening:
Saturday 14th October (Kick Offs are 3pm unless stated)
- Liverpool v Manchester United (12.30pm)
- Burnley v West Ham United
- Crystal Palace v Chelsea
- Manchester City v Stoke City
- Swansea City v Huddersfield Town
- Tottenham Hotspur v Bournemouth
- Watford v Arsenal (5.30pm)
Sunday 15th October
- Brighton & Hove Albion v Everton (1.30pm)
- Southampton v Newcastle United (4pm)
Monday 16th October
- Leicester City v West Bromwich Albion (8pm)
There is one game from that list that sticks out a country mile in terms of being the biggest game of the weekend, and perhaps one of the biggest of the Premier League season and that is the first clash of the weekend at Anfield where Liverpool take on their rivals from along the M62, Manchester United.
The home side started the season well enough, picking up seven points in their opening three games but since then performances have tailed off somewhat for Jurgen Klopp’s men. A miserable September saw Liverpool claim just five points from their next four games and the Reds now lie in seventh place in the table, seven points behind their opponents on Saturday who also have a +18 better goal difference.
It’s been a contrasting start to the season for Manchester United who have been imperious since the opening weekend. They have dropped just two points all season long (a draw at Stoke City) and they are reaping the benefit of having made the shrewd signings of Nemanja Matic and Romelu Lukaku prior to the season beginning.
Even the loss of Paul Pogba through injury hasn’t hit United too hard and they have steamrollered many opponents late in games this season. Liverpool in contrast have found goals difficult to come by, while retaining the same problems in defence that dogged Jurgen Klopp’s team last season.
Anfield will be a cauldron at Saturday lunchtime for this clash between two of the Premier League’s most fierce and bitter rivals. Somewhat unusually, Liverpool go into this as the 8/5 favourites to win the game, with United a 17/10 chance while the best value option here may well be to go for the draw, which is a 23/10 shot with Bet365 Sport.
Other games of note see West Ham heading to Burnley with the home side in a lofty 6th position in the league table, while the Hammers lie in 15th. Burnley’s home form however hasn’t been great this season and Sean Dyche will want to put that right against a West Ham side that have struggled for consistency for a considerable amount of time now.
Chelsea and Tottenham should be confident of picking up points with Chelsea facing winless and goalless Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park while Spurs face a home tie with struggling Bournemouth who are second bottom of the table. Anything less than solid wins for the pair of title-chasing London clubs would be a real shock here.
Arsenal face a tricky trip to Watford who were thumped 6-0 at home by Manchester City but who have earned a point against Liverpool and who have been exceptional on the road this season. The Gunners need a win to propel them up the table from fifth and they should get it here.
Sunday’s games are interesting with Everton desperate for points against a Brighton side that have found life in the top flight a little tough so far this season, while Newcastle United will be hoping to get back to winning ways against a Southampton side that has flattered to deceive at times this season.
Then on Monday night, Leicester take on West Brom in a Midlands clash that Leicester fans will feel the home side must win in order to move themselves away from the foot of the table and to get back into the relative safety of the middle order. A position that West Brom currently occupy.

NFL Week Six
Week Six of the NFL Season gets underway on Thursday night in the US (early morning Friday in the UK) with two of the season’s top performers facing off as the Philadelphia Eagles travel southeast to take on the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers are the slight favourites here in a game that could go either way but which will likely have a big impact on the team’s perceived start to the season.
The games come thick and fast on Sunday with some intriguing match ups to look out for including some big divisional games including the Green Bay Packers taking on the Minnesota Vikings, the New England Patriots facing the New York Jets and the Los Angeles Chargers facing the Oakland Raiders.
There’s plenty of non-divisional action to enjoy too as the Detroit Lions face the New Orleans Saints, Houston welcome the Cleveland Browns to the Reliant Stadium, while their AFC South rivals the Jacksonville Jaguars will hope to continue their recent improvement in form as they face off against the Los Angeles Rams.
There’s also two key games in the early hours of Monday and Tuesday night to enjoy in the UK with New York Giants travelling to take on the Denver Broncos on Monday and then on Tuesday there’s a big AFC South clash as the Tennessee Titans host the Indianapolis Colts with both sides in desperate need of a win to kick start their floundering season.
As always, there’s plenty of outstanding betting you can enjoy with Bet365 Sport on all the top NFL games this weekend including Game Line betting, which is the traditional form of handicap betting that people have enjoyed on the NFL for many years.
